How do I know what size fireplace I need?
Advertised heating area is a useful starting point, but it shouldn't be the only factor used to choose a heater.
Floor area, ceiling height, insulation, glazing, room layout, climate, adjoining spaces and the position of the fireplace can all affect heating performance.
A larger heater is not automatically better. An appropriately sized model is generally preferable to choosing purely on the highest advertised output or heating area.
Should I choose a fireplace based only on its advertised heating area?
No. Heating-area figures are useful for comparison, but actual performance depends heavily on the building and installation.
A well-insulated home with standard ceilings can behave very differently from a large open-plan home with high ceilings, extensive glazing or poor insulation.

Do wood fireplaces require a flue?

Do wood heaters need clearance from walls and furniture?

Can an electric fireplace run the flame effect without heat?

Are bioethanol fireplaces mainly for heating?
The bioethanol fireplaces in our range can produce heat, but we generally position them as a specialised fireplace option rather than the main focus for conventional whole-home heating.
Customers considering bioethanol are often prioritising architectural design, placement and the ambience of a real flame.
Do bioethanol fireplaces have a real flame?
Yes. Bioethanol is burned as fuel, producing an actual flame rather than the simulated flame effect found in an electric fireplace.
Does a bioethanol fireplace need a traditional wood-heater flue?
Bioethanol fireplaces operate differently from conventional wood-burning fireplaces and do not use a traditional wood-fire flue arrangement in the same way.
Installation, room and ventilation requirements still matter and must be considered for the specific fireplace and installation.
Which bioethanol fireplaces do you sell?
Our current dedicated bioethanol collection includes selected Aurora fireplaces, including freestanding and suspended architectural designs.
Some other Aurora fireplace models can also be configured for bioethanol or hybrid operation using the appropriate optional burner system.
Compatibility varies by fireplace, so the correct burner and configuration should always be confirmed for the model being ordered.

Can a suspended fireplace burn wood or bioethanol?
It depends on the model. Within our Aurora range there are wood-burning fireplaces, dedicated bioethanol fireplaces and selected models that can be configured for wood, bioethanol or hybrid use.
The correct fuel configuration and required components should be confirmed for the individual fireplace before ordering.
Are suspended fireplaces suitable for indoor and outdoor installations?
Selected models in our range are designed for indoor or outdoor applications. Suitability depends on the specific model and the proposed installation environment.
Outdoor suitability should not be assumed simply because a fireplace has a suspended design.
Can a suspended fireplace work with high ceilings?
Suspended fireplaces can suit a variety of ceiling heights, but the required suspension and flue components depend on the fireplace and installation.
For example, selected Aurora suspended fireplaces include a lower flue sized for a standard ceiling height, with additional lower flue available where required.

Do you offer fireplace installation?
We can assist with installation enquiries and help explain the requirements associated with the fireplace and property you're considering.
Installation requirements vary substantially between wood, gas, electric, pellet, bioethanol and suspended fireplaces, so the appropriate process depends on the product.
Initial phone, email and online enquiries are free. On-site installation assessments or quotations may incur a fee.
Can you quote an installation before I buy the fireplace?
We can discuss installation requirements and enquiries before you purchase. The information required will depend on the fireplace and property.
Photos, measurements and information about the proposed fireplace location can be useful when making an initial enquiry. Some projects may require an on-site assessment.
Can a fireplace be installed in an existing home?
In many cases, yes. Existing homes can accommodate many types of fireplace, but the requirements vary considerably by fuel type and installation location.
Relevant considerations can include clearances, hearth requirements, flue or venting routes, electrical supply, gas supply, ceiling and roof construction, wall construction and available space.
Should I choose the fireplace before planning the installation?

We supply fireplaces and heating products to customers throughout the Hunter Valley, Upper Hunter and many parts of regional NSW. Delivery availability and cost can vary by product and destination.

Do you offer free freight on any fireplaces?
Selected products and brands may be available with free freight to our Muswellbrook store. This is product-specific and does not necessarily mean free delivery directly to your home.
Check the individual product listing or speak with our team if freight is an important part of your purchase.
Can I order online and collect from Muswellbrook?
Collection options depend on the product, availability and how the item is supplied. Contact us if you'd like to arrange collection or confirm the expected arrival of a fireplace before travelling.
Are all products displayed in your showroom?
No. Our online range is larger than the number of products that can practically be displayed in the showroom at one time.
If you're travelling specifically to see a particular model, please contact us first so we can confirm whether it is currently on display.
